Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin have signed bout agreements for a meeting at UFC 116 in July, it was reported this evening. The two have been strongly linked with that event for some time and according to MMA Live presenter Franklin McNeill papers have now been signed.

“Its pretty much done. The UFC has not confirmed this right now so its not official but several sources have told me that both Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin have signed to complete this fight. Dana White said he wanted this fight to happen in July, it looks like its going to happen,” he said on the popular MMA news show.

Lesnar and Carwin were due to meet on two separate occasions in recent months, both fights falling through thanks to the diverticulitis and subsequent mononucleosis infection that sidelined Lesnar. The first meeting was set for UFC 106 on October 26th but Lesnar withdrew after suffering “the worst illness of my life” in training.  read more »

Strikeforce middleweight champion, Jake Shields has revealed UFC President, Dana White called him up following his win this past weekend over Dan Henderson to congratulate him, as well as admitting he could be tempted by what they have to offer.

Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Shields said:

“I’m not going to jump to any conclusions. My manager, he’s still out in Tennessee, so he gets back and (we’ll) talk. I’m not trying to jump to any conclusions, but I’m a big fan of both. Dana White called to congratulate me this morning, that was really nice of him.”

On a possible switch to the UFC, Shields said:

“I’m certainly not ruling that out. We’re definitely going to talk to them,” Shields said about Strikeforce. “I really do want to fight guys like Anderson (Silva) and GSP as well. That’s a fight I’ve wanted for a while. So definitely something we’ll be figuring out in the next few weeks probably.”  read more »

The UFC has signed three fighters from the Wolfslair, Fighters Only has learned. The signings bolster the gym's UFC fighter roster to six as the line up alongisde Michael Bisping, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson and Cheick Kongo.

Light-heavyweight Tom Blackledge, welterweight Kurt Warburton and heavyweight Rob Broughton all have four-fight deals in place and will make their debuts for the UFC later this year.

Blackledge has already appeared on The Ultimate Fighter, being one of the season ten coaches on Team Rampage. A jiu jitsu black belt, Blackledge also has some ferocious stand-up and produced one of the KO’s of the year when he stopped Enoc Torres in M-1 last year.

Broughton recently won a heavyweight tournament in the UK and lays claim to being the country’s top fighter at that weight. He recently signed with the Wolfslair and is the former heavyweight champion of UK promotion Cage Rage, now defunct.  read more »

Edgar vs Penn The Re-match Set for UFC 118, August 28th

Former UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn will get his rematch with Frankie Edgar on August 28th, Fighters Only can reveal after speaking with several key sources. The fight will headline UFC 118, the UFC’s first card in Boston, Massachusetts.

Penn lost the title to Edgar at UFC 112 on April 10th by way of a controversial unanimous decision. Edgar outworked and outmanoeuvred Penn for much of the fight, but it was an extremely close affair that produced three very different judges’ scorecards. One judge gave all five rounds to Edgar, but that score has been widely ridiculed.

Both Penn and Edgar have since given interviews to Fighters Only and other media outlets in which they stated an immediate rematch was the most likely prospect. Placing it on the Boston card makes sense geographically as Edgar’s New Jersey home is only a five-hour drive away, allowing plenty of his fans to travel for the fight.  read more »

The Ultimate Fighter has revolutionized the MMA world and it's still a very interesting show after 11 seasons. Fighters like Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans, Michael Bisping, and Roy Nelson have won the show and went on to become huge stars.

Others like Kenny Florian, Gray Maynard, Josh Koscheck, and Ben Saunders became stars even without winning the show. Then, there's the others, the ones who were eliminated from the show in early episodes, the ones who quit, and the ones that Dana simply kicked off.

What happened to those guys after the season?

Here is a list of fighters who have all competed in past seasons of The Ultimate Fighter and, as you will see, some have continued in the right path in search of greatness and others...well you'll see.
